DNA made out of water representing COVID-19 and the additional precautions for infection control needed

We have three exciting announcements:

1. We’ve reopened!

2. We’ve officially moved into our new Kirkland office!

3. It’s safe to visit us!

Our office is one of the safest places to be right now.

How is that possible?

As you may know, Dr. Shawn Keller is a bit of a health nut.

Even before the pandemic, our office was already implementing the highest safety standards.

And now, with the pandemic, we’re upping our game with additional precautions for infection control.

Take a look at what we’re doing to protect you, and let us know if you have any questions.

Review the additional precautions for infection control

Pre-screening before your appointment

Before your appointment, we’ll conduct a video consult to pre-screen you.

These questions will help identify if you’re showing symptoms or are potentially at risk.

If this is the case, we’ll kindly ask you to reschedule your appointment.

Check-in from your car

When you arrive for your appointment, please wait in your car and call us to check-in.

Someone from our team will come out to greet you and give you hand sanitizer.

We’ve strategically slotted appointment times to minimize the number of patients in the lobby or hallways at once, so we ask you arrive promptly on-time.

Check your temperature

Once you enter our office, we’ll immediately check your temperature.

We want to ensure anyone – staff or patient – who comes into our office is clean, safe, and symptom-free.

Social distancing with technology

We can limit contact better than most dental offices because a lot of our dental care is done digitally.

This helps reduce the number of appointments you’ll need by doing everything in-house, like crafting your brand new smile in one day… This text opens a new tab to the Same Day New Smile™ website….

We also offer smile virtual consults, so you can receive Dr. Keller’s expert recommendations without leaving home.

Sterilization technology

Dr. Keller is also a bit of a technology geek!

Every piece of technology that can keep you safe or make your dental experience better, we have it.

This includes:

  • UV light sterilization, which constantly destroys all types of bugs and viruses.
  • Medical-grade air purifiers, ionizing and killing bacteria and viruses.
  • A fogger that sterilizes our rooms at night with ozone.

Extra disinfection

Between every patient, we’ll thoroughly disinfect all high-touch surfaces from the counters to the door handles.

We’ve also enhanced our disinfection schedule with medical-grade products.

Wearing surgical masks

We’ve always worn masks, but now we’ll be wearing them even when we’re not treating patients. This includes office staff as well.

And even though it might be hard to tell, we’re definitely smiling underneath our masks!

Should I go to the dentist during COVID-19?

Even with additional precautions for infection control, you may still question if your dental visit is that important.

But here’s why you shouldn’t delay going to the dentist (even during COVID):

Growing evidence suggests oral infections may increase your risk of developing respiratory disease.

Oral infections also suppress your immune system.

Since COVID-19 is a respiratory illness, you’ll need your immune system in tip-top shape to fight it (if you contract it).

By removing oral infections from your mouth, your oral health will improve. Science shows poor oral health is linked to an increased risk of overall health problems (heart disease, diabetes, stroke, etc.), so this is also important.
